We are promised to fulfill customer demands through the most efficient use of resources by working together with our quality suppliers to meet custmer’s needs. Ming Fai is also committed to protecting the environment and we search for ways to minimize the impact of pollution. We care our staffs and foster their career development, provide them with safe and healthy workplaces, and actively consult them on a variety of issues. CSR will remain a prominent feature in the Group’s agenda, and environmental management has become an integral part of the Group’s business planning and daily operations.
Ming Fai is committed to protecting the environment and we search for ways to minimize the impact of pollution. We have a few actions to help conserve the environment.
Factory & Office
Promoting, implementing responsibilities and continuous improvements by our staffs and workers can mitigate impacts of pollution on the environment. We cherish our natural resources; comply with all local environmental laws and regulations.
Products
We have developed the biodegradable, thermoplastic resin, which can be degradable and recyclable after disposal. We also use light weight material, stop over-size packaging to reduce wastage of empty bottle disposable items; printing with soy ink and use recycled materials.
Wastewater
Wastewater will undergo a neutralization process before it is centrally stored for collection by our contracted state-qualified waste collection company.
Air
We have a ventilators and other equipment are installed to filter the pollutant emissions before discharge into the atmosphere and reduced air pollution to the surrounding areas.
ISO 14001 / ECOCERT/ ECO LABEL
In order to enhance the awareness of environmental issues, Ming Fai has successfully attained ISO 14001 certification, the International Environmental Management System standard, ECOCERT and EU ECO LABEL in our factory.
Ming Fai expects and requires our suppliers to conform to the same ethical, social, environmental standards, human rights and other regulatory work practices that we hold ourselves to. For example: no child adopted, basic pension insurance, job-related injury insurance and maternity insurance. We ensure materials purchased from suppliers are complying with international standards to where the export countries required.
In order to ensure a high quality of supplies which would enhance consistency in our product qualities, we have a stringent system for selecting reliable and quality suppliers. Prior to engaging the suppliers, our sourcing team would conduct on-site visits and interviews with their senior management to understand the quality of their products, their manufacturing processes and quality control systems and their ability to comply with our specific quality requirements. The factors we consider in selecting suppliers include pricing, product quality, reliability and timeliness of delivery, as well as general market reputation. We have a list of approved suppliers for each type of raw materials and suppliers and will review periodically.

We apply fair labor practices, and respecting the labor laws of People Republic of China introduced on January 1, 2008; that enhances rights for mainland workers and provides basic pension insurance, basic medical insurance, unemployment insurance, job-related injury insurance and maternity insurance.

We emphasize on health and production safety of our employees. We have published bulletins with occupational safety discussions to promote the importance of health and safety and to raise the awareness of this issue among our employees. We have established safety guidelines and trainings, rules and procedures for different aspects of our production activities, including fire safety, warehouse safety, electricity safety, work-related injuries and emergency and evacuation procedures.

Ming Fai recognizes that the group has the responsibilities to make contributions to the societies in which we operate. In 2007, the company has donated one million HK dollars to the Community Chest. In May 2008, Ming Fai joined hand with its staffs and workers to fund raised for the rescue in Sichuan’s Earthquake disaster and have made a contribution of HKD 800,000 to Red Cross. We also support the local school near the factory on regular basis.
